 The
Casa dei Limoni stands along the ancient path that
ascends from Monterosso to the Santuario of
Soviore. This charming old farmhouse surrounded by scenting lemon trees boasts
stunning views over the medieval towers of Monterosso
and the blue of the Ligurian sea. Love of tradition and preservation has guided
the owners through painstaking restoration works. Stone, wood and redbrick are
the trademarks of this welcoming Bed and Breakfast and the perfect match of
modern design furniture.
Every room features en suite facilities, air conditioning, satellite tv and sea
views. The Lemon Junior suite accommodates up to
three people and enjoys independent entrance and a balcony facing the magic of
the Mediterranean.
Breakfast is served on the terrace, the proper place for twilight relaxation
after the day’s explorations.
TThis oasis of tranquility is an easy reach from
Monterosso – only 10 minutes from the railway station and 5 minutes from
beach, restaurants, supermarket, shops, bank and post office. Take path n. 9 and
– after 80 stone steps siding dry stone walls and gardens – you will get to the
Casa, where you will be offered fresh lemonade and the most scenic of views.
Public toll parking is located at the bottom of the stairway.
Breakfast is the time for a lavish buffet complete with lemon cake, marmalade
and a myriad specialties prepared with the organic produce of the Parco delle
Cinque Terre. The Casa is the ideal pick for
trekking enthusiasts, the trails of the Parco delle Cinque Terre being at a
stone’s throw and Levanto just round the Punta Mesco promontory – discover the
ruins of the Eremo of Sant’Antonio sheer over the sea of the marine protected
area, where only seagulls lift their voice.
Travelling by train is the best way reach your destination in a wink: Genoa and
its Acquario, Florence and its museums, Pisa and Piazza dei Miracoli, Carrara
and its marble quarries, Lunigiana and its castles and medieval hamlets.
FerFerryboats get to La Spezia and the Arsenale
Militare, Portovenere and its isles,
Lerici and Tellaro,
the Tigullio (Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure)
and Sestri Levante.
